Tenerife is accessible by plane from many European cities. Regular and low cost companies offer flights in a wide range of prices. Booking early is advised for cheaper flights.
Tenerife North Airport (Los Rodeos):
Located in La Laguna, about 10 km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife (capital city of the island), and 5 km from the conference venue. It mainly operates flights to mainland Spain and between islands and some international flights.
Tenerife South Airport (Reina Sofía):
Located in Granadilla de Abona, in the South coast of the island, near to the main tourist resorts, about 65 km from the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife. More than 50 airlines operate national and international flights.
ONCE ON THE ISLAND, you can use several options to reach your destination:
By regular bus:
You can take a regular bus from the Bus Company Titsa to La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife from the Tenerife North Airport (fee around 3€) and to the Central Bus Station in Santa Cruz de Tenerife from the Tenerife South Airport (fee around 10€). Once there, you can choose to take a taxi or an urban bus to the hotel.
From the Tenerife North Airport to La Laguna the fee is around 10€ and to Santa Cruz de Tenerife around 20€. Service is available during the opening hours of the airport. Always take a taxi from the signed taxi rank at the terminal.
From the Tenerife South Airport to Santa Cruz the fee is around 65€.
Fees depend on the final destination inside the cities.
You can hire a car from one of the many companies that offer this service in the island. Both airports are connected to La Laguna and Santa Cruz by motorway.
How to reach the Conference Venue:
There isa good bus and tram service between the Campus of Guajara (University of La Laguna) and Santa Cruz and La Laguna and you can also take a taxi (around 5-30€ depending on location of your hotel and traffic).
